As a way of honouring and giving back to the traditional custodians of the land we live and share our weaving practices on, the Gumbayngirr people, BARE Weaving offers twice yearly rounds of applications for two spaces in each of our 3 and 5 day programs.  In addition, we offer a place in our Year Long Immersion Program.

An amazing women’s only 5 Day Retreat which will ignite your weaving mojo!

Your instructors Ingrid Riverstone and Nikki Penny will offer in-depth weaving training - covering local and native plant identification, collection and processing, natural eco-dyes, coil weaving, 2-strand & 3-strand hand twining technique, weaving decorations and bark string creation. This retreat includes time to connect with nature and the other wonderful women in attendance. You are warmly welcome to join us!

2 Day Fibre, Dyes & Weaving with Ingrid Riverstone

This workshop has been a few years in the making. Along with BARE Weaving Immersion Graduate Jani, Ingrid has applied the same priciples used by herself and Katie Rydge to reimagine weaving fibres on the East coast.

Join Ingrid for two days of sharing the amazing abundance of supple fibres and vibrant dyes the plateau has to offer. The weekend will include identification, harvesting, processing and natural dying of locally available native and natural fibres, as well as how to weave these into beautiful and functional pieces of art using the two stand twining method. All fibres, Dyes, Natural Embellishments, Equipment and expert Tuition are included.

NOTE: This is a non residential program

Year Long BARE Weaving Immersion

BARE Weaving Co-Founders, Katie Rydge and Ingrid Riverstone have been super excited to be offering this extended weaving program over the past 5 years. However over the 2026 period they will be taking a break in order to Re Imagine how the Immersion may be more attainable to a wider group of women. If the following speaks to you, do express your interest and we’ll be in contact with how the next iteration of the BARE Weaving Year Long Immersion is evolving!

Through this training you will deepen your understanding of place through learning a broad range of global weaving techniques, as applied to your local native fibres and eco dyes.
This training is ideal for you if you ready to embody your own unique weaving style and explore weaving as an ancient craft.

If you are also keen to teach after this year-long immersion you will also gain an understanding of how to holistically teach successful weaving experiences.

To apply you need to have already attended a BARE Weaving Retreat, hold a desire to teach weaving in your local area and/or be an active weaver or string maker keen to seriously advance your skills.

Immersion begins in February 2026 in a private event incorporating the 2025 Immersion Graduation Ceremony
